“Every day is a new experience”
We intend to make sure Heatherwood Memory Care is the right home for your loved ones. We provide kind and compassionate assistance to our residents, because we understand the fear and frustration brought on by memory loss. We have experience with varying stages of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia and our caring staff is trained to support each resident as they continue their life journey.
Our Resident Care Director is a licensed nurse and conducts a comprehensive assessment for residents prior to their arrival at Heatherwood Memory Care. This assessment takes their physical, emotional, and functional status into account as well as detailed information regarding their background prior to joining our community. Our assessment, along with continual contact with each resident’s primary care physician allows us to develop an individual-based care plan for our residents.
Residents go through stages of Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease at varying stages and with different intensities. We are devoted to stay up to date with all changes to our residents needs. With our computerized care tracking system, we are able to update any necessary changes with our residents from behavior to modifications in their care plans, required assistance with activities of daily living, and changes in medications. All updates are made in real-time, in order to keep all staff up to date with the latest information on all of our residents.

Katelyn Wilson, LVN - Assistant Administrator
I am a Bay Area native, born in Hayward, where I would continue to spend most weekends even after moving to the East Bay. I spent most of my childhood in Antioch, where I currently live with my Husband and children. I studied Nutrition and Healthcare Administration at Los Medanos College and then Nursing at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.
When I am asked why I chose Heatherwood over working anywhere else; it is that here the residents and staff truly feel like family. That is what I want families to feel when their loved one lives with us, that they are in a home-like environment with the quality care that you would expect from specialized memory care.
