I was born and raised in the Bay Area and attended college at Stanford University graduating with a degree in Public Policy. I developed a passion and need to get involved in senior care while helping with home care for a family member.
This family member was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and I was exposed to the emotional stresses, difficulties, and challenges in caring for a loved one at home. I participated in all aspects of daily living for my family member. It was during this time that I consulted with my good friend and now business partner, Dr. Kranthi Achanta, about the aging process and the added difficulties in caring for a loved one who has the challenges that Alzheimer’s and Dementia can bring.
It is increasingly more difficult to care for elderly loved ones in the home and with another family member being recently diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s, I began looking at facilities that can help better comfort and manage the symptoms that come along with this disease. I was shocked with the conditions of many of the facilities that I found. Dr. Achanta, practicing physician and Chief of Staff at Washington Hospital shared the same views as I did.
We believe that a homelike facility with trained staff can ease some of the pressures that families endure, while allowing them to enjoy more memorable experiences with their loved ones for as long as possible. I am passionate about education and learning new ways to combat some of the symptoms these diseases cause and am diligent in my quest to further my education in both Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
