Deema Eid, MD, MHA - Resident Care Director
They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
- Maya Angelou.
Anyone who has lived with or worked with an Alzheimer’s or Dementia patient knows just how true that statement really is.
I have always had a passion for helping others and wanted my life to revolve around it. In 2003 I graduated from medical school and practiced medicine in the United Kingdom as well as other countries. Helping others comes in many forms, so upon moving to the United States I got my Masters in Healthcare Administration to supplement the knowledge and experience that I gained as a physician.
I had recently moved to the Walnut Creek area and initially came to Heatherwood Memory Care seeking to help out as a volunteer. After visiting the community and meeting with the owner, Ryan, I was offered a permanent position as the Resident Care Director. There is nothing more rewarding than the feeling that you have when you put a smile on a senior’s face. It makes me happy to be able to utilize my experience and knowledge as a physician to help care for our residents.
I look forward to continuing this journey with a healthy and happy Heatherwood family.
